The Mixhead R&D facility works closely with material suppliers and customers to design and build a material distribution system that allows a larger processing window for various applications.

Konal has a State of the Art Testing System tied into our RS view monitoring system that monitors true trending, pressures and temperature variations within the head. This collected data allows us to understand the design implications and provides the data needed to make educated design changes. In addition this data provides invaluable information to Maintanance and Process departments.

Konal Mixhead R&D ships a third party CMM report, Surface finish report in Microns certifying surface finishes and a full testing and validation report with every new and refurbished head. This surpasses every competitor in the world. We are QS9000-TE compliant with annual reviews to ensure quality systems consistent and closed loop accountability.

Use of high tech alloys, precision machining, EDM, grinding, and special treatments of critical components provide enhanced wear resistance, reduced friction, and as a result, superior reliability and long lifetime between repairs.

Konal's impingement type mixhead design allows for either adjustable or fixed orifices for the chemical components. High-pressure impingement type mixhead, hydraulically operated. The components are re-circulated through the same orifice when no shot is called. This feature assures the elimination of high-pressure spikes and perfect ratio accuracy all through the shot. The mixing housing, made of hardened steel, and the surface treatment of the pistons, will allow for long operation time. Service friendly design requires only minimal care. For processing, all necessary adjustments can be done quickly, cleanly, and precisely.
